Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
One of our most progressive ways to treat sports injury, so you can recover faster, is Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy.
How PRP Works
During this regenerative treatment, we extract the plasma from your blood, concentrate it and reintroduce it to your affected area. This can help to effectively heal injured joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons.
Because PRP is prepared from your own blood, it does not carry the risks associated with treatments that use donor or synthetic material.
Uses of PRP
PRP is used across a number of our services, including:
Joint & Soft Tissue
Used to support the treatment of injured joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons.
Skin Rejuvenation
Applied to the face or face and neck to support the skin’s natural rejuvenation processes.
Hair
Used to support scalp health as part of a hair regeneration programme.
Sexual Health
Used in the P-Shot and O-Shot treatments for men and women.
Wound Support
Used to support the healing of certain wounds.
The Treatment Process
1
Consultation
A confidential consultation with our clinical team to discuss your goals and check your suitability for treatment.
2
Blood Draw
A small sample of your own blood is taken, in the same way as a routine blood test.
3
Preparation
The sample is processed to concentrate the platelet-rich plasma.
4
Application
The prepared PRP is injected into the treatment area.
Aftercare
Your clinician will give you specific aftercare advice based on the area treated. Most patients are able to return to normal daily activities shortly after treatment, though some mild swelling, bruising or tenderness at the injection site is possible.
