Nutritional Therapy at Levitas Clinic

General Clinical Services

Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional therapy is not simply about ‘food’.

What Is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy is an evidence-based, personalised approach to healthcare that uses nutrition science and functional medicine to address underlying health imbalances. Unlike generic diet plans, your registered nutritional therapist assesses your unique genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors to target the root cause of your symptoms, not just the symptoms themselves.

Key Conditions We Support

Gastrointestinal & Gut Health

Support for IBS, bloating, SIBO, food intolerances and general microbiome and digestive health.

Hormonal Balance

Support for symptoms linked to conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, perimenopause, menopause and thyroid dysfunction.

Metabolic & Energy Health

Support for chronic fatigue, burnout, insulin resistance and weight optimisation.

Immune & Autoimmune

Support for inflammatory issues, skin conditions such as eczema and acne, and food sensitivities.

A Functional Medicine Approach

Grounded in recognised science and evidence-based research, nutritional therapy examines how our health can be affected by not only what we eat, but also by our lifestyle, emotions, genetics, environmental toxins and stressors.

Our Nutritional Therapist was trained in the Functional Medicine approach to nutrition, and is registered with the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions, Our Answers

What is the difference between a dietitian and a nutritional therapist?

Dietitians primarily work within the NHS to treat diagnosed medical conditions through standardised dietary guidelines. Registered nutritional therapists practise a functional medicine approach, focusing on individual biochemistry and root-cause, preventative support.

Are your nutritional therapists BANT and CNHC registered?

Yes. All nutritional therapy consultations at Levitas Clinic are conducted by practitioners registered with the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

What functional lab tests do you offer?

Where clinically appropriate, we offer a range of functional lab tests, including comprehensive stool testing (GI-MAP), SIBO breath testing, DUTCH hormone panels and food intolerance testing, alongside broader nutrient profiling. Your nutritional therapist will discuss which tests, if any, would help target your plan.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies by individual, but most patients start with an initial consultation followed by 2–3 follow-up sessions. More complex or long-standing cases may benefit from 4–6 sessions over several months.

Where is your clinic located, and do you offer online appointments?

Nutritional therapy consultations are available at our London (Mayfair), Guildford and Esher clinics, alongside secure online consultations UK-wide.

Is nutritional therapy covered by private health insurance?

Some private health insurance providers cover consultations with CNHC-registered nutritional therapists. We’d advise checking directly with your policy provider before booking.
